Thoughts, Words +

May 09/2024: I had an amazing time at the Biblio Bash 2024, but I might never look at the Toronto Reference Library in the same light again…I wrote so many of my university essays there as well as many outlines and chapters for my novels – I associate it with a place for hard work and stress, not one for dressing up and partying! Regardless, I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the TPLF…for more information about this great cause, read this awesome interview by Anokhi Magazine: South Asian Heritage Month: How 5 South Asian Authors Are Challenging Societal Norms & Stereotypes (anokhilife.com)

Feb 18/2024: It was an absolute joy to be on the CBC’s The Next Chapter last month to discuss The Red One! Ali Hassan is great – I felt like I was discussing my novel with an old friend. Click here to listen:

Feb 4/2024: Are there any words to express the joy of finding your own book in your local Chapters? Growing up, book stores and libraries enchanted me (they still do). It wasn’t just paperbacks and hardcovers lining the shelves – every single publication was a portal to a different era, culture, concept, perspective, experience…how amazing would it be to contribute to this wonderland of human creativity and intelligence? I’m so happy the seven-year-old me dared saying “one day…”. I’m a firm believer that the first step to fulfilling any dream is to believe in it wholeheartedly.

And thank you to Chapters, of course.

On February 25th, I’ll be at Type Books for the Junction Reading Series, joining Amy Jones and Anuja Varghese! I already know this will be good…hope to see you there! Check out Junction Reads for more information.

January 25/2024: I had the pleasure of signing copies of The Red One at the OLA Super Conference this year. Mawenzi House (my publisher) had a neat little display of many of their wonderful titles. This was my first time attending this conference and I was overwhelmed by both the number of attendees and books. Librarians rock!
